After more than three years of dedicated service with Central California Conference (CCC), Pastor Edgar Sanchez is transitioning to a new pastoral role in the Southeastern California Conference (SECC).
Since beginning his service in December 2021, Pastor Sanchez has been instrumental in expanding CCC's Hispanic outreach. Initially serving with Sequoia Hispanic Church and the remnant Hispanic congregation, he soon embraced the opportunity to plant new churches—establishing both the El Shaddai Hispanic group and the Clovis Latin American group.
"Planting two new Spanish churches and watching them grow has been the greatest joy during my pastoral ministry in CCC," Pastor Sanchez said.
Following two years of local ministry, Pastor Sanchez was called to join the conference's Hispanic ministry department for evangelism, where he implemented a threefold approach: training churches in evangelism, executing outreach efforts and identifying promising lay leaders.
His ministry extended to all 50 Hispanic churches across the conference, conducting evangelistic training sessions, prayer weeks and weekend revivals. In a single year, his ministry resulted in 30 evangelistic events that forged new friendships, strengthened congregational bonds and transformed lives.
Pastor Sanchez is now answering a new call to minister in San Diego. The two-church district includes Broadway as the main church and Bethel as its sister congregation. Located in a border town, the area presents both significant ministry needs and abundant opportunities.
Church members are already developing plans to plant new congregations in towns lacking an Adventist presence—a vision Pastor Sanchez views as both a professional challenge and personal blessing.
"This new role will offer greater opportunities to engage with new members while also allowing me to spend more time with my family," he said.
As CCC acknowledges his service and anticipates his continued leadership in San Diego, the conference family prays that Pastor Sanchez's next journey will further demonstrate his innovative ministry approach and heartfelt commitment to growing the Hispanic church community.
