Pastor Emanuel Hernandez traces his spiritual roots to his childhood days in the city of Coatzacoalcos. Accompanied by his grandfather to church, young Emanuel first encountered the stirring hymns and powerful sermons that would later shape his calling. Though he grew up in a non-Adventist home, his life took a significant turn at the age of 16 when he accepted the gospel and decided to dedicate his life to Jesus. That same year, he began actively serving in the church, passionately embracing preaching and even leading his first evangelistic week.
Raised solely by his mother, she supported his spiritual journey wholeheartedly, enrolling him in a local Adventist school. One day, while studying in the school’s library, Emanuel read the book Messages to Young People, and was deeply moved by the Holy Spirit. It was in that moment he sensed the call to pastoral ministry. Following this conviction, he transferred to an Adventist boarding school and eventually completed his degree in theology at the University of Montemorelos in Nuevo León, Mexico.
Later, in Navojoa, Sonora, Pastor Hernandez pursued a second theology degree with official government accreditation. He is currently finalizing his thesis in Family Counseling, continuing his commitment to personal and professional growth.
His first official church assignment was as Associate Director for full-time literature evangelists. That early phase of his ministry was marked by evident blessings. In 2008, his calling was further affirmed when he was ordained to the ministry in Tecate, Baja California. Over the years, God has given him the privilege to pastor 10 church districts across Mexico. His ministry also extended beyond national borders, serving as a missionary in Manitoba, Canada, and Minnesota, USA.
Pastor Hernandez’s pastoral journey has been deeply enriched by his 27-year marriage to Judith Ramírez. Together, they have raised two children, Jair and Jimna. As a family, they’ve joyfully served the church, especially in children’s and youth ministries—areas they believe are vital for keeping the church vibrant and active. Their musical talents have also become a meaningful way to worship and lead others in praise.
His life mission remains unwavering: to continue making disciples, inviting others to know Jesus, and preparing for His soon return.
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” — John 14:1-3
May He find us faithful, fulfilling the mission until His glorious return.
Pastor Hernandez began serving the Salinas and Seaside Hispanic congregations and the King City group on March 22, 2025.
