On Sabbath, October 5, 2024, Pastor Kwame Sarpong was installed as the new Pastor of the
East Palo Alto and San Jose Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist Churches. These churches have a rich history in the Central California Conference (CCC), and we joyfully welcome this
dynamic young minister to inspire and uplift the communities in East Palo Alto and San Jose.
Pastor Kwame Sarpong comes to us from London, England, joining the CCC from the South
England Conference. His youthful vigor is complemented by a wealth of experience and
success during his pastoral work in his home conference. Accompanying him is his beloved
wife, Mrs. Dorothy Aning-Sarpong, who shares in this exciting journey.
Both Pastor and Sister Sarpong were embraced with warm fellowship and heartfelt gifts
from the congregations, gathering to celebrate this momentous occasion at the East Palo
Alto Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
The celebration was marked by the presence of CCC’s Executive Secretary, Dr. Ronald
Rasmussen, who officially welcomed Pastor and Mrs. Sarpong to the Central California
Conference. Pastor Alonzo Wagner, III, director of African American Ministries and senior
pastor of Fresno Westside, Hanford House of Hope and Fresno Ghanaian Community,
charged Pastor Sarpong in his installation service; alongside him were Pastor Neil A.
Thomas, Pastor. Mark L. Howard, and Pastor. G. Marlon Lamand, II, all coming together in
support and prayer.
This gathering resonated with a powerful spirit of unity, as they laid hands on Pastor
Sarpong, invoking the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Together we pray for his strength and
wisdom as he embarks on this calling. May God use him mightily, and may the East Palo Alto
and San Jose Ephesus churches flourish through his dedicated ministry.
Welcome to the CCC, Pastor and Mrs. Sarpong!
