Reflecting on the 2nd Annual Creative Communicators Camp: A Weekend of Growth, Faith, and Public Speaking

This past weekend, we were blessed to hold our 2nd annual Creative Communicators Camp, and it was truly a memorable experience! Kids and families, whether attending for the first or second time, arrived eager to hone their public speaking skills while honoring and glorifying our Lord and Savior.

This year’s camp theme, “The Gift of Salvation,” inspired kids as they explored various ways to express their faith through public speaking. The weekend featured interactive centers designed to help them develop specific skills, from Storytelling and Artistic Expression to Non-Verbal Communication and Persuasive Speaking. Each center encouraged campers to reflect on their experiences and create presentations that tied back to the theme, with many drawing inspiration from nature hikes, art, and personal reflection.

We’re thrilled to share that 90% of the kids presented their completed work on Sunday morning, sharing stories, artwork, and sermons that reflected their unique voices and faith journeys. Watching these young communicators speak confidently and passionately about God’s love and salvation was a powerful reminder of the impact faith-based learning can have on young hearts.

As we look forward to our third annual camp next fall, we’re already excited for the new opportunities ahead. And if any church would like to host a Creative Communicators Day in the spring, please reach out to our Children’s Ministry Department at childmindirector@cccsda.org. We’d love to bring this experience to your community!

Thank you to everyone who made this event a success, and especially to the kids who inspired us all with their courage, creativity, and commitment to glorifying God through their words and actions. We can’t wait to see what the next year holds!
