CA will be hosting a youth-led evangelistic seminar this Fall. In 2023, the Youth hosted a series entitled Mysteries of God, where 6 young speakers shared sermons they had written under the coaching of Pastor Jim Berglund and Pastor Tyson Kahler. The 2023 youth preaching seminar was met with such enthusiasm and excitement, that we are expanding our seminar in 2024. From September 13 to 20, we will be hearing messages from 16 youth, grades 5-10, during an 8-night series. Students have selected their topics from the 28 Fundamental Beliefs of the SDA church. "Last year we had over a dozen decisions for baptism made over the course of 6 nights, as well many decisions for on-going commitments to Christ. This year, we anticipate an even larger turn out and many more decisions for Christ to be made," says Pastor Tyson Kahler, Youth Pastor at Discover Life. We saw something amazing happen in 2023. Usually evangelistic meetings have heavier attendance at the start and as the meetings progress, attendance drops off. But the Mysteries of God seminar saw increased attendance and excitement about what we were doing every single night. The biggest night we had was the final night! And many of the youth didn't want it to end. God is doing something great in Sonora.
